Botanical Garden

The Botanical garden is maintained by the Tamilnadu horticultural society and covers an area of 22 hectares. It is located on the slope of the Doddabetta peak, The garden has a terraced layout. It ascends the slopes of the hill at an elevation of 2250–2500 meters above Mean Sea Level. The Government Botanical Garden, Udhagamandalm was established in 1848. At the Botanical Garden we can see thousands of species both exotic and indigenous of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbs and bonsai plants. In the center of the Gardens lie a fossilized tree trunk estimated to be 20 million years old. it is one of the undeniable and  most popular places to see in Ooty tour package. The present Botanical Gardens are divided into 6 sections, namely Lower Garden, New Garden, Italian Garden, Conservatory, Fountain Terrace and Nurseries. The flower show conducted here as a part of the Ooty Summer festival is a major attraction. Another popular attraction of Botanical Garden is the Fossil Tree Trunk that is said to be around 20 million years old. The wide variations of plants here are worth exploring.

Rose Garden

Rose garden in Ooty is one of the important place to visit in Ooty tour package. The world famous Ooty Summer Festival held annually in the Queen of Hills – Ooty during the month of May. The Summer Festival includes flower show and rose show, attracts a huge number of tourists to Ooty. Doddabetta Peak

Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills at 2,637 meters. There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is 9 km from Ooty, on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road. Ooty Lake

One of the most important parts of every Ooty tour package, Ooty  It covers an area of 65 acres. The Boathouse situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, Ooty lake is an artificial lake constructed by John Sullivan in 1824, for fishing purposes and for boating. Tourists can be seen enjoying a refreshing ride on its serene waters. There is boating house located near the lake offering a wide array of boats for hire. Cycling by the side of the lake is also worth experiencing. The lake is surrounded by groves of Eucalyptus trees with a railway line running along one shore. There are also a few shops located around the lake, selling various locally made items.

Flower show

The first Flower Show was organized in the year 1896, The flower show attracts about 150,000 tourists each year from all over the world. The flower show is held for two days. About 250 exhibitors participate in different categories on the day of the flower show. At the flower show, more than 50 varieties of plants  ,150 varieties of cut flowers, various kinds of tropical and temperate vegetables and tropical and temperate fruits are exhibited by the competitors. The Floral decorations, Indian and Japanese flower arrangements, Vegetable carving, Flower Rangoli, Bonsai etc., are the major attractions during the flower show days.

Pykara River

Pykara is a village situated nearly 19 km away from Ooty Gudalur road. Pykara is one of the important picnic spots in Ooty tour package. This place is ideal to come and relax while admiring the scenic beauty of the waterfall and greenery around. There is a boat house and a restaurant can be found also near the waterfall. The surrounding area is also popular for Toda settlements. The Pykara River is considered very sacred by the Todas. The river in Pykara flows through Murkurti, Pykara and Glenmorgan dams, and reaches the Moyar dam which is located in Masinagudi. This river plays an important role in producing hydroelectric power project in Singara and Moyar power house which is located in Masinagudi.

Pykara Boathouse

Boathouse on the Pykara reservoir is an added attraction for tourists. Pykara boasts well-protected, fenced sholas, Toda settlements, large grassy meadows and good wildlife habitat. The Pykara Dam, falls and the reservoir attracts many tourists. It consists of several boats and has motor boats which are allowed for 20 minutes and speed boats which are allowed for 10 minutes.

Shooting Spot in Ooty

Shooting point is one of the most popular destinations in Ooty tour package, it is located 7 km from Ooty. This place is also known as the 9th mile since it is located at a distance of 9 miles from Ooty. It is known for its landscape these days. Many cine shoots have been done here and hence it got its name and popularity. This place highly crowded nowadays. Shooting Spot is one of the best picnic spots in Ooty trip. We need to trek for about 500 meters to reach the top. Here you can use the horse riding activity in the tribal village. Most of the 90s Bollywood movies have been shot here. Wayanad Trip

The name of Wayanad comes from two words: Vayal Nadu. ‘Vayal’ means field of paddy (rice), and the word ‘Nadu’ is a South Indian name for the land. Wayanad is the only district in Kerala, which  shares borders with two South Indian States – Tamil Nadu and  Karnataka. Chandanathode is the only pine forest in Kerala which is located in Mananthavady. Wayanad is set in the altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 meters above sea level. Banasura Sagar Dam

The Banasura Sagar Dam is located 21 km from Kalpetta, in Wayanad District, It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia. Banasura Sagar Dam is located in the foot of the Banasura hill. The Banasura Sagar Dam is named after Banasura, the son of Mahabali who was a very respected king of Kerala. If you are willing to go for a trekking then Banasura Hill is one of the important place in Wayanad. Many visitors enjoy the trekking in Banasura hill and also speed boats at Banasura Sagar Dam.Banasura Hill Resort, located about 20 km from the dam was rated as Asia’s largest Earthen Resort. Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary in Wayanad,Kerala. It has an extent of 344.44 km2 with four ranges, namely Sulthan Bathery, Muthanga, Kurichiat and Tholpetty. A variety of large wild animals such as Indian bison, elephant, deer and tiger are found there. Established in 1973, the sanctuary is now an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. It is bounded by a protected area network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the northeast, and on the southeast by Mudumalai. Elephants, tigers, panthers, jungle cats, civet cats, monkeys, wild dogs, bisons, deer, bears, monitor lizards and a variety of snakes are seen. And also Peacocks, babblers, cuckoos, owls, woodpeckers, jungle fowls are a few of the various types of birds seen here.

Pookode Lake

Pookode Lake is a scenic freshwater lake in the Wayanad district in Kerala, South India. Pookode is a natural fresh water lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is 15 km away from Kalpetta.

Kuruva Island

Kuruvadweep is the only island surrounded with naturally purified water source in Kerala. The Kuruva island, 950 acres of ever green forest on the tributaries of east flowing river Kabani, is an ideal picnic spot, far away from the disturbances of city life.  Its 16.7 km from the nearest town itself and thus it has become a place of attraction. Kuruva Islands is 17 km east of Mananthavady and 10 km northwest of Pulpally, nearby towns in Wayanad District. Recently, it has been named as the most visited place in the district by tourists from all over the globe. The island, surrounded by streams and river is accessible by rafts or fiber boats run by the Kerala Tourism Department.

Edakkal Cave

Edakkal Cave are two natural caves at a remote location at Edakkal, 25 km from Kalpetta in the Wayanad. The name ‘Edakkal’ literally means ‘a stone in between’. Here you can see a cave formed by a heavy boulder straddling a fissure in the rock. The caves contain drawings that range over periods from the Neolithic as early as 5,000 BC to 1,000 BCE. Inside the caves are pictorial writings believed to date to at least 6,000 BCE. The caves were discovered by Fred Fawcett, the then Superintendent of Police of the Malabar district in 1890, during his hunting trip to Wayanad.
